The project involved upgrading the outdoor schoolyard and two inner courtyards in two schools in Sheikh Zayed City in Cairo as well as maintenance work for classrooms. The design includes educational spaces for the preparatory stage, shade elements, seats, a nursery school, planting areas and vegetation on large surfaces within a limited budget.

YGAMA’NA GAMA-SA was the first of a series of projects that aimed to address the integration of Syrian Students in Egyptian Governmental schools through the Co- design of the open space that gathers all students alike in the activity of play, socializing and recreation, which is the “Schoolyard”. The project was first implemented in a preparatory and prima-ry-stage mixed school in Gamasa, Egypt.

The project involved the design of the outdoor open air school-yard and two courtyards in the school of 25 January in Borj El Arab. The design includes a basketball court, shading elements, landscaping, seating area, a kindergarten.
